Mayan Daily Insights

Today is the end of another cycle in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar.  Thursday, August 14, 2008 is 13 Oc (Dog).  What does this mean for us as an individual, and does that reflect on the world around us?  Is there any trace of Oc in the global consciousness?  This is the end of a cycle: are you holding your dream?

This morning as I drove to the nearby market an advertisement came on the radio for a political “message”.  The energy was intense and demeaning, even if the cause was true and just.  Words presented in such a light rarely transition into any worthy action.  Yes, today is a good day to focus on the power of Oc, the dog.  Today is a good day to focus on loyalty. 

Loyalty is holding steadfast to your purpose and direction.  Oc reminds us of the need to at times step out of our own needs if that is what is required to remain on course.  On this day the power of Oc, our loyal guidance that keeps us focused, is accompanied by 13, the day of completion and transition into the next cycle.

How then can we receive the gift of Oc on this day?  Through reflection on your own path.  Have you ever had something you have worked on so diligently, only to let it fall apart before its complete?  Not all dreams are intended to manifest, but many of our dreams should reach their state of being.  Are you holding your dream, maintaining your loyalty with something you know to be worthwhile and true?  As we move into the next cycle you may carry into it a long-term dream. 

Each day presents you with another energy or support that you can use to feed your fire.  The pivotal aspect in manifesting your dream is you - where do you stand?  Above your dream, manipulating your world like a puppetmaster?  Under your dream, with the weight of it all on your shoulders?  Or is your dream within your heart, beating at the same rhythm, like an echo of your very soul? 

Today is the end of a thirteen day cycle.  How are you holding your dream? 

Thursday, August 14, 2008 is 13 Oc (Dog): Knock knock, who’s there? Oc greets us as we step from the old cycle into the new. We are never truly alone, and the loyalty of Oc shows us this. Whether it is reaching out your hand to the forces that guide you, or turning back to find your own patterns and ways to give you boundaries, there is always something there to give you strength. Today is an excellent day to focus on recognizing your allies. They may play an important part in the next cycle we are about to begin.

Friday, July 25, 2008 is 6 Oc (Dog): “Oh, now I get it!” We are nearing the peak of this cycle, the thirteen days of the Tzolkin Spiritual Journey. Six gives us balance and communication. Oc, the dog, gives us relationships and support.

How does all this fit together? Well, let me ask you this: what good is the gain if you never incorporate it in your life? What good the planting in the fields if you do not harvest? When we are moving forward, and we all know how fast the world is moving now, it is easy to forget to connect with our world and those around us. Today is an excellent day to be grounded. Today, the day of Oc or the dog, is a good day to be loyal to your greatest alliance. This is a day to experience our connectivity not just to the future but to the day. How do we do this? Connect to the earth, be here, and now.

Saturday, July 5, 2008 is 12  Oc (Dog):  This may be one of those “ah-ha” days.  As we complete the integration of the ending cycle, and the new thoughts that accompany this new vibration, we will be offered so many options to transition with grace.  There will be the opportunity for new beginnings, for changing our perception of the past, for the support of others, and will have spiritual alliance and strength.
