December 26, 2009 is 5 Muluc, the Water, in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar. The number five is a gateway to evolution, a time when we leave the comforts of home and explore a world beyond the basics. Why would we ever want to resume our normal lives, if we can even define what is normal.

Through our ability to ascend or grow we constantly create opportunities for something new in life, even if we try to pretend it is “just another day”.

We gather. We live in a world of circles, joining together for continuity. We know, within a reasonable degree, how the seasons will treat us, the flow of our day, and many other familiar patterns. There is comfort in this place, knowing what to expect.
