Saturday, November 15, 2008 is 2 Akbal (Night, House).  Welcome to the terrible two’s!  Alright it is not that bad.  Two gives us duality and the division between pleasure and pain.  Two gives us choice.  This is a blessing, not a curse.

Thursday, October 9, 2008 is 4 Cimi (Death).  Alright, duality is not so bad.  But then along comes Cimi, aka death.  What is the cost for our learning?  Maybe it’s the innocence of the child, the naivety of spirit?  Cimi is a great healer, for we must clear away the old ways that are no longer useful.

This cycle is in it’s fourth day, and it is very much a yin yang experience.  The secret?  Stand in the middle, for in the center of the teeter totter there is not the wide swings that we find on either side.

Wednesday, October 8, 2008 is 3 Chicchan (Serpent): This is the calm after the storm, and this day will bring you a feeling of hope.  The serpent is rich with life, and life abounds from the ashes of the old.  Fear not, we will move through these days.  There may be things to let go of, release, or allow to drift away, but this is one of the deepest truths about life on this planet: nothing is forever. 

We all know the story of Adam and Eve, and the serpent.  Here’s a twist to think about, for your own pondering: the serpent gives us the duality we face on a day to day basis.  There is a cost to everything, or more lightly stated, there is always an exchange taking place.  We recognize the monetary exchanges, but what about our time, our beliefs, our ideals, etc.?

Duality is not a bad thing, it’s great!  Without duality we would not have these great thoughts to ponder, or problems to solve. We grow, and learn, and are rich in our experiences.  Celebrate with chicchan, for that is what life is all about.

Friday, August 29, 2008 is 2 Chicchan (Serpent): Today is a day of celebration.  The energy of chicchan greets us with that force of duality we hinted at yesterday.  Chicchan is that force of the kundalini energy, a strong body energy that weaves a crisscrossed pattern as it flows steadily up the spine.  We have duality in our masculine and feminine as well, but chicchan reminds us of the wonderful dance when those those two energies combine. 

Today is a day to enjoy the power of the dance, when any two forces or energies combine.  We understand that one plus one equals two, but in some cases the results are exponential.  Our duality is at times a means of struggle, but it can also be a thing of beauty.

Monday, July 21, 2008 is 2 Cimi (Death): To fly the young bird must give up the comfort of the nest.  For the spirit to soar, the physical body must give up the comfort of what it has come to know.

Children go through a phase when they realize they are separate from their mother.  This can be a traumatic time, at least for the moment.  Yet as they explore, and discover, they quickly forget.  This day is two, the day we separate from the oneness and explore both our relationship with others as well as our duality.

Friday, May 30, 2008 is 2 Ix (Jaguar): Here we bring in the frustration of duality. “Now you have it, now you don’t”. I feel the primary message on this day is not to become too attached to anything you can hold. What we see can merely an illusion. For that matter, just because we do not see something does not mean it does not exist!

Great power can be derived on this day, and if we step forward with certainty those steps will be more sure-footed and will leave a greater impression on the earth. What is the message you seek to express to the world? The following days will offer many opportunities to convey your desires and offerings.
