Wednesday, September 10, 2008 is 1 Caban (Earth): This first day of the cycle gives us a grounded start. I feel that this cycle will remind us to slow down and bring more awareness into the moment. We begin with Caban, the earth, and end the cycle with Muluc, the water, giving us reflection.
This cycle is very focused on self awareness. We cannot focus on the dew drop as it cascades off the petal of a flower when we are driving by at 60 miles per hour. How often do we fly through the day, engrossed in activity and action, and forget ourselves in the process? During this cycle we have the opportunity to say “this is where I am, and I am okay with it” so we can take that next step, no matter which direction that is in.

Friday, August 1, 2008 is 13 Caban (Earth): This day carries forward the message of yesterday. Yesterday we connected with source, today we bring that connection into our day to day life by connecting to the earth.
With both source and earth we complete the circuit, much like an electrical current. It is the standard these days to have grounding on that electrical connection. This goes for the lamp and the toaster oven, but also for self. This connection makes us complete, and gives us all the tools we need for the next cycle.

Monday, June 2, 2008 is 5 Caban (Earth): This day comes across as a time to replenish. As we dip into the earthly coffers we are invited to breathe deeply and renew ourselves.
On this day it is especially important to be centered within yourself. As you bring in the earth energies and replenish, where will those energies be directed? Are you the sheep herder or farmer, spreading what you receive amongst those in your care? Many of us do this, caring for others or our creations. Many of us carry old obligations or promises within us that are no longer valid. Releasing those old commitments frees us, and those on the other side of the agreement as well. This act of release gives us more room for our own energy.
