Yesterday we spoke of the day of night, with Akbal giving us enough of a break from the normal churning of our lives to create space for whatever new thought or idea is ready to emerge.
What better aspect of life to follow the night than Kan, the seed. Today is January 10, 2010, and it is 7 Kan, the seed in the Mayan Daily Insights, based on the Mayan Tzolkin calendar. Kan comes about every 20 days, each time with a different number tone to support it. In this instance we see the seed cradled in the supporting arms of the number seven, nestled in balance in the center of the 13 day cycle.
This is not a new cycle, bringing us back to one, nor is it the primal beginning of Imix. Still, we cannot help but smile when we look down at the innocence and preciousness of anything new. Can we carry a little spark of that feeling to share within ourselves, to encourage the emerging seeds to grow?
From darkness comes the seed, and even thought that new idea or project may not yet sustain us it may grow into something amazing. For now we can walk softly, so we don’t trample what tomorrow may be our sustenance.
