Mayan Daily Insights: One Day, One Insight

Today is Saturday February 27, 2010, and it is 3 Eb the Road in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar. People ask me why I focus on the Mayan calendar, not knowing what it signifies or how it fits in to our current lives.

When I focus on this particular instance on February 7, 2010, and 9 Eb the Road in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar, the image I see is the road having branched off in two directions, but eventually that road comes together again.

January 18, 2010 is 2 Eb, the Road in the Mayan Tzolkin calendar. As we travel along the road of life we carry with us markers: the flags, cones and road signs we use to assign value to the steps we take.

Today is December 29, 2009 8 Eb, the Road. Today is just another day, another step along the way, blah, blah, blah. How much of the value of our journey is decided by the road?

Today in the Mayan Daily Insight we’ll focus on the little slice of the pie called now. This is day one, and life is intended to fall into its own succession.

When we look at the Mayan Tzolkin calendar we see 20 glyphs, each with their own meaning. This is a relational calendar as well, bringing the 13 numbers into alignment with the glyph of each day.
