How did we manage to create such a wide gap between those who are prosperous in living and those prosperous in longing? It can appear like every time we start to enjoy ourselves again that there is something there that could easily deflate the uplift we felt.

Today is January 6, 2010, which is 3 Ahau, the Light in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar. Glimmer: a dim glow, a faint light. To look into the mirror and see beyond what we typically expect, see, and assess. What more can we say than “relax and be with your own life”.

Today is January 5, 2010, which is 2 Cauac, the Rainstorm in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar. The rainstorm, how fitting. Is this not just perceiving something outside myself that I choose to see as a hindrance?

Today is January 4, 2010 is 1 Edznab, the Flint in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar. We may be at the beginning with the number one, but we are not walking into this day without a tremendous power.

January 3, 2010 is 13 Caban, the Earth, in the Mayan Tzolkin Calendar. Collectively we have been here a very long time. How much do we own up to our long-term relationship with the world around us? Who are we in this relational space? Do we accept our wisdom, or express ourselves as children of the earth, or manage a combination of both?

We ask for a new world, yet cling to the old ways. It’s as if we were humpty dumpty, and to some degree our energies must be focused on staying on the wall, else disaster may follow.
